Castlebay (Artists)
Castlebay is a duo from mid-coast Maine specializing in Scots and Maine coastal music. Their music combines award-winning Celtic harp playing with 12-string guitar, fiddle, whistles, and songs. Castlebay are full-time musicians and are available for concerts, workshops, school programs and private functions throughout the east coast of the U.S.

Don Roy (Artist, Instrument Maker)
Don Roy is a Franco-American ace fiddler, living treasure and recipient of multiple traditional arts fellowships and awards. Breton, Irish, and other Celtic sources have influenced his sound. The Don Roy Trio, with pianist/step dancer Cindy Roy and bassist Jay Young, performs throughout the region. Don also custom-crafts violins and violas.

Fiddle-icious (Instruction, Performance)
A diverse group of enthusiastic fiddlers and other musicians of all ages and all walks of life. The group’s music features tunes passed on from our Scottish, Irish, Quebecois, and Acadian ancestors. Our goal is to keep the tradition alive by sharing Maine’s musical heritage with the community. All are welcome to join.

Maine Harp Circle (Instruction)
The Maine Harp Circle was founded in 2003 as a way for local harpers to get together, play music, encourage and support each other and share their love of the Celtic harp. Take turns playing individual, unison, and group music with two or more parts. Meets first Sunday of each month in Auburn, Maine.

Midcoast Harps & Friends (Instruction)
Meets weekly on Tuesday mornings & 1 Sunday afternoon a month, September to May, in Camden. All size & manner of harps are welcomed (both lever and pedal), and all levels of playing experience from beginner to advanced are encouraged - we learn from each other. Repertoire is wide-ranging, but a special emphasis is placed on, but not limited to, using the small harp in Celtic spirituality and other liturgical settings.

Sue Mack (Artist, Instructor)
Sue Mack plays not only the Great Highland Pipes, but also Scottish Smallpipes, Border Pipes, and other members of this remarkable family of instruments. She has studied with tradition-bearers on both sides of the Atlantic. Sue Mack is available for performance and instruction for both children and adult beginners.

Brunswick Scottish Country Dancing (Instruction)
Come try Scottish Country Dancing, a delightful social dance tradition open to all ages and abilities. This group is taught/led by an experienced, engaging instructor certified by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.

Dedicated to the study and authentic re-enactment of Scottish history and culture, this group offers a hands-on approach to exploring your roots!

Maine Irish Heritage Center
Located at St. Dominic's, an historic hub of Irish immigrant activity, MIHC offers a range of social & educational resources. Check out their website or head down to State Street for a tour of the ongoing restoration!

Maine Saint Andrew's Society
Maine's most venerable Scottish organization has been hosting the Maine Highland Games for over a quarter century. Games proceeds fund a scholarship program available to all Maine residents with an interest in Scottish culture. With no age limits, you too can become a late-blooming Gaelic student, harper, or bagpiper!

Slighe nan Gaidheal
Speaking of Gaelic students, here's a hotbed of 'em. This active learners' organization boasts a busy calendar of events and activities, many led by native speakers of Scottish Gaelic. Peruse their resources or hop over to the Scottish Gaelic Webring!

Sabhal Mor Ostaig
This Gaelic College on the Isle of Skye offers short courses for adult learners in their Spring/Summer sessions. Their links page is astonishing-- hundreds of listings for learners, researchers, music & art lovers, and even a list of all known movies that contain Irish or Scottish Gaelic dialogue!

Saorsa Media
Discover Scottish Gaelic culture--on both sides of the Atlantic--through historical articles, images, and in-depth research materials. Dr. Michael Newton, professor and author, presides over this cultural treasure trove. Dr. Newton hosted the 2003 conference, "The Legacy of Scottish Highland Immigrants in the New World."
